Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that occurs due to the body's inability to carry out the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins due to an insulin defect. DM is progressive, this will cause the patient to experience hyperglycemia which can increase glucose levels in the blood. In 2015, there were about 415 million adults with diabetes. This service activity is expected to provide information about educational programs for DM sufferers and involve their families to prevent further complications, as well as increase independence in self-care and quality of life for DM sufferers. The method of implementing this service is by checking vital signs, measuring blood sugar, providing health education about DM and evaluating with an education method based on DSME (Diabetes Self Management Education). This activity was attended by 17 participants in the first and second activities and 15 people in the third activity. The results of this service were attended by most of the participants having blood sugar levels when they were above normal (> 140 mg/dL), which was in accordance with the target of the participants and went quite well. Overall self-management education activities to improve self-care for DM patients can be said to be successful

Abstract

Planting shade trees is useful for preventing landslides on the ground and can be used as a flood prevention. This greening is not only done to prevent various kinds of natural disasters, but also as a protectorof the surrounding environment to avoid bad air pollution. This is closely related to the government's policy that the Indonesian people plant 25 trees while they are alive. Considering that Indonesia is the largest contributor of oxygen in the world, quality oxygen is needed for the survival of living things on this earth. Indonesia also has the largest forests so that they become the lungs of the world. Tree planting is carried out in Kelurahan Air Dingin, Pekanbaru City, Riau. The planting of this shade tree consists of matoa trees, mahogany trees and trembesi trees. The greening activity was carried out jointly with community leaders and residents of the Kelurahan Air Dingin on Friday, December 23, 2022. The results of this tree planting activity received appreciation and support from the Lurah, RW, RT and residents of Kelurahan Air Dingin. This tree planting activity succeeded in planting 15 trees consisting of 5 mahogany trees, 5 matoa trees, and 5 trembesi trees.

Abstract

Child sexual abuse has repercussions both psychologically and physically. Child sexual abuse should be prevented early. One of the prevention efforts is to provide education using the story telling method. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide information to children so that they can avoid sexual violence behavior. The method of implementing this activity is carried out in 3 stages including the preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The implementation of storytelling is carried out by the video method. In this video, it is told how a child can become a victim of sexual violence. In this video, we also teach how children prevent sexual violence behavior. This story telling is given for 90 minutes. The results of the activity showed an increase in children's knowledge about sexual violence and its prevention. It is hoped that the school can carry out this story telling regularly.
